Snow/Virtual Schedule

This 2021-22 school year, Mehlville School District will use up to five virtual learning days if our schools close due to snow or inclement weather. If needed, we will use traditional snow days if we have more than five snow days. Traditional snow days will be made up after Memorial Day.

Should Mehlville use a virtual learning day for snow, our teachers will support our students learning at home by providing two hours of instructional time from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Students should use their district-provided Chromebook to connect with their teachers and their four classes for the day through Google Meet. Each class will meet for 30 minutes. Additionally, teachers will post assignments to the class website (Google Classroom or Canvas) prior to the start of each class period on virtual learning days. If we have a virtual snow day, students will follow the class schedule and teachers will have already communicated Google Meet link information. Our teachers will have open office hours via Google Meet between 11 a.m. to noon. Students can get extra help during these office hours, they should email their teacher asking them to open their Meet for a video conference.

Attendance will be counted on virtual learning days. Students will be marked present when they complete and submit their assignments for the day.

In the event that we use a virtual learning day, staff and parents will be notified via text, phone call and/or email through ParentSquare. Snow days and virtual instruction days will also be announced through the district Twitter account, Facebook account and Instagram account, via our district website, mehlvilleschooldistrict.com, through local television stations and other media partners.
