Tony Brown Award

Mehlville High band director Tony Brown will be recognized on KPLR 11 on Monday, Dec. 16 after being selected as the Tools for Teachers winner for the month of December.

Brown was nominated by Jennifer Goebel, who said:

“He teaches and inspires countless students day in and day out. He is there for his students every day in July and August throughout marching band rehearsals, and then every evening once school begins. He is then working tirelessly all day on Saturdays for Marching Band competitions and football games throughout the fall. Mr. Brown knows that band is an expensive prospect for students, so on top of all his other duties, he assists the band parents with running a bingo night at the local bingo hall, every. Single. Thursday. He has a true love of music and love for his students.”

Brown was featured on KPLR News 11 at 4 p.m. where he received a $500 check for winning the award.
